This year, Reagan Odom (Secretary) and Len James (President) represented the IFFCBAS at the annual NCBFAA GAC in Washington, DC. The Savannah contingent also included Jan Fields (John S. James Co./Chair of the NCBFAA Transportation Committee), Myra Reynolds (John S. James Co./Area 4 Rep. to the NCBFAA Customs Committee), and Tom James (John S. James Co.). We enjoyed a very informative conference, hearing presentations from CBP, FDA, congressional aides and numerous other resources.

On Tuesday, September 11th, after a morning address from Rep. Peter Roskum (IL), we joined with the Atlanta Association and ventured to Capitol Hill to lobby congress on behalf of our industry. Issues promoted were increased funding for CBP ACE development, PNTR status for Russia, Harbor deepening for Savannah, additional cargo inspectors for Atlanta, and various other matters. We encourage anyone who has not made this trip to consider attending the GAC one year. The experience and knowledge gained is invaluable.
