May Meeting

posted May 14, 2012, 8:06 AM by Len James

As you hopefully know, on May 21-22nd, the city of Savannah will host the Commercial Operations Advisory Committee to CBP (COAC). The committee provides advice and recommendations to CBP and the Departments of Homeland Security and Treasury on the commercial operations of CBP and trade-related interdepartmental functions. We encourage everyone to attend the open meeting of the COAC session, taking place Tuesday afternoon, as it should provide keen insight as to how national policies & programs are created, debated and implemented. To attend you must register on-line at by close-of-business May 18th.

Our association will host a cocktail reception at the Hyatt Regency at 5:30 PM on May 22nd, welcoming the COAC members to our city (see the attached invitation).  This reception will take the place of our May luncheon, as it would normally fall on the same day. Since parking is often an issue downtown, the Hyatt will extend a discounted price to us of $7 for valet parking for the duration of the reception (if space is available).

Similar to our luncheon process, each Regular member of the IFFCBA of Savannah will be allowed 2 attendees as part of your membership. Unfortunately, due to space constraints and policies regulating travel for our government attendees, we are unable to invite more than 2 per regular member, or extend an open invitation to our valued affiliate members.

To attend, you must RSVP back to Reagan Odom by close-of-business May 16th.

We look forward to this event, and thank you for your support.
